In most musculoskeletal cases, the Doctor of Chiropractic will perform an exam before or after a medical exam and will then work with the Medical Staff and Physical Therapist to devise a treatment plan specific to that patient.

If the team and the patient agree that chiropractic would benefit the patient, the Chiropractor would then perform a specialized form of spinal treatment and/or joint mobilization(s). This procedure is used to increase the range-of-motion, decrease the muscle spasm, decrease the pain, and prepare the patient for Physical Rehabilitation.

The patient usually feels relief from the spinal adjustment or spinal decompression therapy.
